Social Committee organise a Safari Supper around the village starting at the Chapel


For many years the social activities of Leighton Bromswold have been organised by the Leighton Bromswold Social Committee

and events have included -

Safari Suppers, Halloween and Bonfire Parties (with food), Music Nights, Cheese and Wine Parties, Egg rolling, Noodle Evening, Fun Run / Fun Day, Rugby Sweepstake, Christmas Raffle, Irish Evening,  St George's night,  Chinese Night, 100 Club Draw'  World Cup  Draw,  Village Photography,  Pub Games Evening,  Barn Dance, Coffee Morning,  Carol Singing,  Spring Bazaar,  Jumble Sale,  Harvest Supper, 60's Disco , Italian Evening,  Mid-summer Ball,  Mexican Night,  Car Treasure Hunt,  Skittles Evening, Auction of Promises,  Race Night,  Music in The Park and BBQ in Playing Field, Firework Displays, Cricket Matches, Swiss Evening, Eurovision evening, Street Parties, 800th Charter Year Celebrations, New Year's Eve Party, Teenager's Party, Battle of Britain flyovers Christmas Parties for Children and Older Villagers, Trip to Seaside (Southwold) and Pimms Racing Evening ..... and more!

Money is raised at some of these events and has enabled the Social Committee to purchase a Village marquee which is16 metres (52 feet) by 9 metres (30feet) wide and has a capacity is 195 standing or 150 seated. It has a floor and electrics. It is on it's own custom made road trailer.

The Social Committee has cups, saucers, plates, jugs, knives and forks, lighting, catering equipment, BBQ's and a sound system all of which can be borrow for FREE by any member of the village. We have about £20,000 worth of equipment.

It also supports St Mary's Church and the Parish Council and runs with a balance of about £5,000 each year.
